2nd On-Site Plenary Meeting of the ONOFRE-4 Project

The 2nd On-Site Plenary Meeting of the ONOFRE-4 Project was successfully held on 25 February 2026 at the Faculty of Computer Science, Campus de Espinardo, at the Universidad de Murcia.
The meeting brought together researchers from Universidad de Valladolid (UVa), Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT), and Universidad de Murcia (UMU), reinforcing the collaborative and multi-stakeholder spirit of the ONOFRE-4 initiative. The plenary session began with a welcome address by UMU, followed by detailed presentations on the progress of each subproject. Partners presented recent advancements and future plans in areas such as optical networking, vehicular and wireless communications, edge computing, digital twins, LLM-based management approaches, data collection, and dataset generation. Participants also visited UMU’s 5G campus facilities, laboratories, and experimental testbeds, gaining first-hand insight into the infrastructure supporting some of the project’s validation activities. The afternoon session focused on reviewing the overall project status, discussing collaboration lines across subprojects, and preparing the upcoming interim report. Beyond the technical sessions, attendees enjoyed a guided tour of the city of Murcia and a networking dinner, further consolidating the strong collaboration among the partner institutions.
The ONOFRE-4 project continues to advance toward its goal of enabling secure, resilient, and intelligently orchestrated multi-stakeholder networks for next-generation connected mobility.
