Ignacio de Miguel and Ramón J. Durán Barroso (Universidad de Valladolid) at ONDM 2026

From 12 to 15 May, Ignacio de Miguel and Ramón J. Durán Barroso (Universidad de Valladolid) attended the 30th International Conference on Optical Network Design and Modelling (ONDM 2026), where they engaged with the latest advances in optical network design and modelling through presentations and discussions with the research community. The conference also offered a valuable opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and collaborators, including Carmen Mas Machuca and Camilo Anzola-Rojas (ONOFRE-4).
On Thursday, 14 May, Ramón J. Durán Barroso presented the paper “Building Physically Secure Subnetworks on Existing Optical Networks”. The work introduces an upgrade-planning framework for designing physically secure subnetworks on top of existing optical backbones, ensuring resilient connectivity through multiple link- and node-disjoint secure paths. The presentation showcased research results developed at the Universidad de Valladolid within the ONOFRE-4 project.
