ONOFRE-4 researchers participate in IEEE NetSoft 2026

Several members of the ONOFRE-4 team, Antonio Skarmeta, Marco Antonio Villa and Ignacio de Miguel, attended IEEE NetSoft 2026, held in Berlin, Germany, from 29 June to 3 July, 2026.
On Monday, 29 June, during the Trust 6G-Net 2026 workshop, Antonio Skarmeta (Universidad de Murcia) presented the paper “A Multi-Stakeholder Framework for Secure C-ITS and Experimental Deployment.” This joint work by the ONOFRE-4 partners (Universidad de Murcia, Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, and Universidad de Valladolid) introduced the project’s conceptual architecture: a fully integrated, end-to-end system designed to seamlessly support Cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems (C-ITS) and other verticals within a multi-stakeholder Beyond 5G (B5G) infrastructure. The presentation also showcased its implementation in a dedicated testbed, together with two security-focused use cases demonstrating the framework’s capabilities.
On Tuesday, 30 June, Marco Antonio Villa, from the Universidad de Valladolid, participated in the PhD Symposium accompanied by one of his PhD supervisors, Ignacio de Miguel. He presented his research on the heterogeneity of existing approaches and evaluation methodologies for task offloading in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) environments. His work identified key challenges in modeling and performance evaluation and highlighted the research directions he is pursuing as part of his PhD within the ONOFRE-4 project.
