UVa Team presents ONOFRE-4 results at ICTON 2026

We are pleased to share that Evaristo Abril, Ramón J. Durán Barroso, Noemí Merayo, and Ignacio de Miguel from the Universidad de Valladolid (UVa)  attended ICTON 2026, the 26th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks, held in Prague, Czech Republic, from 12 to 16 July 2026.

During the conference, three research papers from our team were presented showcasing recent results from the ONOFRE-4 project, focused on optical access and transport networks as well as network security:

  • “A DRL-Based Approach for Efficient Bandwidth Management in 10G-EPON Networks”
  • “Secure Multipath Routing in Elastic Optical Networks: Modeling and Performance Analysis” - A joint work with Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), Chile.
  • “Performance Evaluation of Modulation Format and Mode-Group Allocation Approaches across Multiple Network Topologies in MGDM-WDM Networks” - A joint work with four Chilean universities: Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (UTFSM), Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, and Universidad de Concepción.

It was a great opportunity to present our latest research, exchange ideas with the international optical networking community, and strengthen collaborations.
